Description William 'Bill' Ferguson was a trailblazing Aboriginal rights activist who founded the Aboriginal Progressive Association and led protests at the 1938 National Day of Mourning. A bronze statue of Bill Ferguson was unveiled last year on Dubbo’s main street in honour of the man and his contribution to Australia.
